Plough Lane – Wimbledon

Units 1 & 2 at Plough Lane are two exemplary retail spaces that allow for a flexible array of possible tenants.

Working closely with Faircloth Construction to achieve a clean, well-detailed and high-quality finish, RGP Architects echoed this flexibility in their design whilst creating a new clean-cut silhouette that brings new life to the previously industrial nature of the area. Set back within the footprint of the development to create space to better cope with changing site conditions, such as potential flooding, the height of the two new units has also been exaggerated so they blend in visually with neighbouring commercial units. Highly-prominent glazed façades on the Plough Lane units, framed by a ceramic-clad projecting canopy that provides shade from the sun, also help create very clean lines and maximise the utility and function of the units.
