FAIRCLOTH completed a development in Newbury, Berkshire, in less than five months and three weeks ahead of schedule.

Despite having to tackle the UK's worst weather conditions in 30 years, Faircloth delivered four refurbished retail units early.

Mark Webb, of Monaghans which managed the project, said the weather caused a few problems when it came to excavating the site.

"We ended up having to install a temporary drainage system to pump out the water from the river so we could lay the foundations. Although the weather was an obstacle on site, we managed to overcome it in the end," he said.

"The project was really well managed so we were able to beat the completion date. Faircloth is a great contractor and I would definitely recommend them again."

The renovation, which took place over Christmas, involved stripping the existing building down to its shell, cladding and making alterations to the shop fronts. External works included relaying the car park, surfacing, paving and constructing a new access ramp.

Darren Faircloth, Director at Faircloth Ltd, said: "Despite some of the worst weather conditions we pulled out all the stops to make sure the work was finished on time."
