Faircloth has completed the design and construction of a 2,800m Waste Transfer and Recycling Station in Chelmsford, Essex.
The station is made up of a span warehouse with particularly high bays of steel frames and extensive external hard standings. It will be used to recycle from construction, industrial, commercial and household waste streams.
Mitch Paris, of Clifford's which is based at the station, said: "I knew exactly what I wanted right from the outset. I had a lot of pre-tender meetings with the landlord so we were both completely sure of the plan.
"I had a really good working relationship with Faircloth which is why the work was completed so quickly. Everything went really well and they are fantastic to work with."
Initial works required Faircloth to remediate the ground and pile the foundations.
"The spot is historically a landfill site," said David Clark, of Clark Smith Partnership which designed and provided the original concept and specification.
"We have a lot of experience working with tall buildings so, although this one was a substantial build, the job was fairly simple. Faircloth completed a good job on time and within budget."
